Ylr-news-800034837

Those keen to receive an expert consultation on insurance, banks and credit matters may have noted news that a high proportion of under-18s have hosted house parties that have gone wrong.

According to new research from Post Office Home Insurance, 35 per cent of parents whose children have thrown a bash have had valuable belongings broken or stolen.

Furthermore, the study revealed that one in ten under-18s have arranged a party without getting their mum or dad's permission beforehand.

Gerry Barrett, head of the organisation's Home Insurance branch, advised: "Try to store away as many valuable items as possible to prevent them from being accidentally broken and make sure you get a true idea of numbers beforehand."

He added: "The best way for parents to relax is to make sure they are prepared."

And school-leavers set to embark on their university adventure might be interested to learn that their parents' home contents insurance can cover a number of valuable possessions, according to Aviva.
