What will drop in unemployment mean for the UK's jobs market?

Ylr-news-800046499

Workers might have noted news that the unemployment rate has fallen by the biggest amount for three years.

This is according to the Office for National Statistics' Labour Force Survey count, which showed that the jobless rate was down by 49,000 in the April to June quarter, totalling 2.46 million.

News of the fall may have caught the attention of those who are looking to plan their future finances with a degree of consistency in mind.

Although the figures would appear to suggest the nation's pool of workers might have shrunk, TUC general secretary Brendan Barber said the figures demonstrate the country's economic performance before the Conservative and Liberal Democrat administration took over.

He claimed the statistics "reflect the UK's mini economic revival in the first half of 2010 before the government's cuts kicked in".

Moreover, it could be said that voluntary work experiences can offer a valuable way of improving a CV and impressing future employers.
