Woman 'furious' after getting fined for parking outside her home

A woman has been left furious after she was issued with a parking ticket for leaving her car outside her home.
According to the Northern Echo, Barbara Jefferson has been hit with a £35 penalty despite the fact that her car was parked in the same spot it has been in for seven years on the street outside her residence in Darlington.
The news source explained that this is because of the enforcement of more stringent restrictions on parking zones in the area, which were implemented on December 31st 2010.
Ms Jefferson commented that she had not been informed about the council's intention to start taking enforcement action and added that she was "really angry" to have been penalised.
"Why can't they organise parking permits for residents and that would solve the problem?" she continued.
This comes after the Bolton News stated that the local authority there had been forced to waive 549 penalties because the DVLA did not have records of the number plates on the tickets issued.
