Woman receives compensation after suffering discomfort due to holiday
A woman who suffered an infection in the area surrounding a medicine tube which was attached to her stomach while in a hotel has been offered compensation.
Agnes McIntosh travelled from Dundee to the Lancashire seaside resort of Blackpool to stay in the hotel for a break which she booked through Blackpool Promotions.
She noticed the contamination to the medicine tube just 24 hours after returning to Dundee, local paper the Evening Telegraph reports.
The 58-year-old claims the hotel did not provide her with a working shower despite the fact that she told staff there that she needed one for medical purposes.
She stated: "I explained to the people at the hotel how important it was for me to shower every day, but they couldn't move me to another room.
"I used the sink, but the lack of hot water made it difficult to clean the tube properly."
In a recent development, Blackpool Promotions said it would refund some of the cost of her holiday due to the suffering she underwent.
