Writing a will is an "expression of a wish"
Drawing up a will is an "expression of a wish", an expert has suggested.
Commenting on the issue, Phil Perry, director of independent financial advisory firm Ark Financial Planning, said that the writing of such documents is a "very simple process".
He added: "It is really just about making sure the individual identifies the things that are most important to them and make sure that they are left in the correct way."
The expert pointed out that failure to make a will could lead to inheritance tax issues.
He also suggested that, should a person's circumstances change regarding their assets or beneficiaries, they should update their wills.
Mr Perry described such amendments as a "major part of financial planning" and said people should review them in the same way as they would their investments and pensions.
Specialising in taxation and trusts, pensions, mortgages, savings and investments, Ark Financial Planning has combined industry experience of more than four decades.
